After seeing the difficulties faced by celebrities in finding the right clothes during pregnancy, there is another celebrity struggling with extra pounds to lose after the birth of her daughter.
Former Miss World, model and Bollywood actress, Aishwarya Rai gave birth to her first child in November, and in a few months after the pregnancy she was spottted with a natural increase in weight. But Bollywood is unforgiving and after the publication of photos depicting the actress with a few extra pounds, Aishwarya was even discouraged to show up at the Cannes Film Festival where she’s expected as the face of L'Oreal: "if you aren’t in good shape, you’d better not go to Cannes" said the Indian press.
And the comments to the video titled Aishwarya Rai Shocking weight gain, were not the cutest “i mean the woman is in the PUBLIC eye! her baby is 7 months old and she looks like she gave birth yesterday!” said a commentator- “not to mention the double chin! Sorry, many of us_ have had kids and WORKED hard to lose it. motherhood doesn't give you license to be overweight”.
And another added "she should learn from Victoria Beckham who is back on her size only a few weeks after giving birth", while the videomaker commented "Aishwarya Rai Bachan post her pregnancy seems to be looking rather plump instead of losing some of her flab after the baby's delivery and seems to have shockingly put on at least five to six kilos."
But for Aishwarya’s fans, she is not just an actress and a model; she represents the Indian woman in the world. And therefore, she has the duty to be flawless and skinny also after pregnancy, an idea far away from the fertile woman of the indian culture, and closer to the Occidental idea of woman, just like Victoria Beckham!
