On Tuesday singer/actress Janet Jackson launched her collection of fur products in collaboration with Blackglama called Janet Jackson Blackglama. She helped to design the fashion items and is also promoting them in ads. The collection includes mink and leather jackets, coats, vests, gloves and scarves.

While the fur pieces are beautiful, she will most likely receive a lot of attention from animal rights groups such as PETA. Some celebrities are seen in fur on the red carpet, but promoting and designing fur is a very brave and risky thing to do for Jackson’s career. She doesn’t seem too worried, however, saying that she is very excited about the partnership and that the art of fashion is one of her great passions.

The collection will be available this month at Bloomingdale’s and Saks Fifth Avenue.
