Colombian actress Sofia Vergara joked around with American TV talk show host Ellen DeGeneres as they shot an advertisement for CoverGirl this week. Sofia has become a well-known actress in the U.S. since she started working on the hit television sitcom Modern Family. She recently starred in the movie New Years Eve and will be seen in the upcoming film The Three Stooges.

Vergara was born and raised in Colombia in a strict Catholic family. She was discovered by a photographer when she was walking on a beach and began a modeling and acting career, but only after having received permission from her Catholic schoolteachers. She was married at 18 years old and had a son, then later divorced. After her divorce, she studied dentistry for three years then left school to pursue her acting and modeling career in Miami. 

Vergara was named the new face of CoverGirl this year and has been busy shooting ads for the cosmetics company. She has also been working with Pepsi and shot an advertisement for them with David Beckham. Her clothing line for woman at K-Mart stores has recently come out and is a big hit. We’re sure that we’ll be seeing a lot more of this talented actress in the future!
