Rihanna, after achieving worldwide fame as a singer, looks very determined to go with long strides into the world of fashion. Riri is producing a new reality show, Styled to Rock, a competition of fashion designers that is very similar to the 24 Hour Catwalk or Project Runway, except that the judge of the competitors will be Rihanna. Riri will be the executive producer and she will make the casting, the direction and post production. The reality show aims to find the “the next generation of raw, undiscovered designer talent”.
Along with the promo of the reality, the Barbadian singer also announced her collaboration with the street style British brand, River Island. "I've been wanting to design my own collection for some time.” Said Rihanna “River Island is the perfect partner for me to collaborate with and working with a British, family run business also really appealed to me. I find London really inspiring and River Island loves to have fun with clothes. I'm looking forward to working with them and creating something really special.
The street style brand is nothing short of delighted about the collaboration with the artist, and for the visibility that it will bring, "We are thrilled to be collaborating with Rihanna and to be the first fashion brand to work with her in this way," said Ben Lewis, chief executive of River Island. "Rihanna is a style icon; from street to chic she enjoys her fashion. As soon as we started to work together we knew this was a perfect fit. Rihanna will be designing the collection and we will be sharing our fashion experience with her to develop a range her fans will love."
Her collaboration with Armani was limited to jeans and underwear, but now that Riri has carte blanche, we can expect a large number of hot pants, tops, fringe and animal prints.
