Is 54 year-old Michelle Pfeiffer’s perfect skin the result to her diet?

As Michelle Pfeiffer walked the carpet at the premiere of her latest film, People Like Us, held during the Los Angeles Film Festival, she rivalled her younger co-stars with her age-defying look.

Michelle, who is 54 years old, still has virtually perfect skin and she credits part of that to her strict diet. Her skin isn’t the only thing that has benefited from her diet. Michelle’s figure is outstanding for a woman who has working in the movie business for over three decades.

The busy actress has always had a healthy approach to eating, but while filming the movie Dark Shadows opposite Johnny Depp she saw a program that convinced her to take her diet one step further and Michelle decided to become vegan. Michelle no longer eats any type of product that comes from an animal.

She explained her new eating choices on a recent interview during the U.S. TV program Piers Morgan Tonight, “I was finishing up working on, I think it was Dark Shadows and I was watching CNN, and The Last Heart Attack came on. I just felt like...there was science behind it and, you know, it was sort of irrefutable. I couldn't not listen to it. My father died from cancer, and the older you get, there's a lot of disease around you. And you see people struggling with chronic disease. You see people dying with terminal illnesses. And if in any way this is true, then you kind of have to listen to it."

Michelle said that both health and vanity played a part in her decision to cut out all animal products, saying, “Vanity is right under there but I have to say that it's a close second with wanting to live long.”

Pfeiffer wanted to feel healthier and look better and it seems to be working. She looked years younger than her age on the red carpet for People Like Us next to younger stars Elizabeth Banks and Chris Pine. She wore natural looking makeup with light eye shadow and lip gloss in a black and white sleeveless dress and black heels.

People Like Us is about a man whose father dies and leaves instructions in his will for him to deliver $150,000 to an alcoholic sister that he has never met before.
