Courteney Cox and David Arquette met on the set of the 1996 horror movie Scream and were married on June 12, 1999. This year, on June 8th, a few days before their anniversary, David officially filed divorce papers. The Hollywood couple have actually been separated for over a year, just at the time when Courteney presented his new residence in Malibu (Read), but it had been considered a ‘trial separation’ and they always said that they are still “best friends".

The pair would have been celebrating their 13th anniversary on June 12th. They have a daughter together named Coco, who just celebrated her 8th birthday on Wednesday. Courteney and David are luckily still on good terms and when Arquette filed the divorce papers he asked to share joint legal and physical custody of Coco. He is not asking for any spouse or child support either. The papers were filed at a court in Los Angeles and the reason listed for the divorce on the document was ‘irreconcilable differences’.

After starring in Scream together, where Cox played a news reporter and Arquette played a law officer, they starred in the sequels of the movie including Scream 2, 3 and 4. They were already separated during Scream 4, but promoted the film together anyway and even took their daughter on a vacation together at the time.

Scream was not the only project that the couple worked on together. They also formed a production company that they called Coquette (a combination of their last names). Through the company they have produced films and TV series including Dirt, Cougar Town and Daisy Does America.

The couple remain friends and will surely continue working together in the future. We wish them both the best!
