What kind of place would you expect a young, handsome, male Hollywood star to buy with the money from his new highly successful movie? A treehouse in Hollywood Hills, of course! Josh Hutcherson, 19, who starred in the hugely successful movie The Hunger Games this year recently purchased a Los Angeles home for $2.5 million with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

The 1,861 square foot house is very unusual and set in a secluded area of the Hollywood Hills. The home is known as The Tree House because it sits high up at the top of Laurel Canyon in a grove of sycamore trees.  The open living space is very integrated with the outdoors and includes a huge movie lounge, a dining and barbeque area and various seating areas, all perched in the trees.

Inside, the floors are concrete and there are vaulted wood-beam ceilings and huge glass doors which connect to the outdoor open rooms. Even the glass shower has walls open to the nature  surrounding the property.

The home has been formerly owned by talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, Max Mutchnick who created the hit TV show Will & Grace, furniture designer Guy Levalley Chaddock, producer David Weissman, actor Heath Ledger, actor Adrian Bellani and actor/comedian Will Ferrell. Busy house!
