Cannes Film Festival 2012: the nine-strong official jury announced
The nine-strong Cannes Film Festival jury 2012 have been announced, with four women (among them, Diane Kruger) and the French fashion designer Jean-Paul Gautier

The nine-strong Cannes Film Festival jury 2012 have been announced. The jury of film industry experts chosen to pick the winner of the prestigious Palme d'Or prize (the festival will run next May 16-27) will be lead by Italian director Nanni Moretti with four women and four men. The women are German actress Diane Kruger, British director Andrea Arnold (Fish Tank, Wuthering Heights), French actress Emmanuelle Devos, and Palestinian actress and director Hiam Abbas.
The men are British actor Ewan McGregor, American director Alexander Payne, Haitian director Raoul Peck and French fashion designer Jean-Paul Gautier. Cannes boss Thierry Fremaux said: "We have a tradition of inviting people who we know are cinephiles but who are not necessarily in cinema."
