Rome Film Festival 2012: the innovations of the seventh edition

A program of about sixty films in world premiere, a large space dedicated to the new trends in contemporary film and also a structure for projections, meetings and debated dedicated entirely to Italian cinema. The new artistic director of the Rome Film Festival, Marco Müller, has announced the innovations of the seventh edition which will take place from the 9th to the 17th of November 2012 at the Auditorium Parco della Musica and other spaces in the city.
The event's new guidelines provide an Official Selection composed of the International Competition, some films from Out of Competition and the other two sections, CinemaXXI (Cinema of the 21st century) and Perspectives Italy. All the films in the Official Selection will be presented as world premieres. The International Competition will be composed of a maximum of fifteen films, of which three will be Italian. Up to six Out of Competition titles will presented. The CinemaXXI competition will include feature-length, medium-length and short films for a maximum of fifteen titles, whilst Perspectives Italy will examine the new trends in Italian cinema, for a maximum of fourteen feature and seven short films in competition. In addition to the Official Selection, Alice nella Città section will gather a maximum of fourteen films for young audiences.
