From Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan, The Wrestler), Noah is a biblical event adaptation of the story of Noah (played by Russell Crowe) as he’s given a divine edict to build a great vessel to house animals and his family and save them from a watery natural disaster from God that will wipe out a sin-filled world. Written by Aronofsky with Ari Handel, the movie also stars Jennifer Connelly, Emma Watson, Logan Lerman, Anthony Hopkins, and Ray Winstone. “I dreamt about this since I was 13. And now it’s a reality. Genesis 6:14 #noah,” the Oscar-nominated director tweeted last month when production started in Iceland. “Noah was the first person to plant vineyards and drink wine and get drunk,” the helmer told The Guardian about the no conventional script. “It’s there in the Bible – it was one of the first things he did when he reached land. There was some real survivor’s guilt going on there. He’s a dark, complicated character. But the essence of the film for me is new life emerging from old.”
Noah is a man chosen by God for a great task before an apocalyptic flood destroys the world.
